Ghana Civil Society Forum 2025 (GCSF)

Ghana Civil Society Forum 2025 (GCSF) was the third national gathering of civil society actors in Ghana, held on 25–26 June 2025 at the GNAT Hall in Accra.

The forum was organized to bring together NGOs, community-based organizations, policymakers, and development partners to reflect on the future of civil society and strengthen collective action. It was held under the theme:
“Reimagining Development Financing and Civic Action – Challenges, Opportunities, and the Way Forward.”

GCSF 2025 focused on how civil society can remain effective and sustainable in a changing development landscape, especially with declining donor funding. Discussions emphasized innovative financing approaches such as local philanthropy, social enterprise models, and technology-driven fundraising.

The forum also highlighted:

  • The need for stronger partnerships between civil society, government, and the private sector
  • Greater local resource mobilization and accountability
  • Recognition of CSOs as key actors in driving innovation, transparency, and social change

Overall, GCSF 2025 served as a strategic platform for rethinking how civil society in Ghana can adapt, collaborate, and sustain its impact in national development.
